Leadership Diploma

During their time in Years 9 & 10 at St. Benedict’s College our students will be given the opportunity to develop skills in leadership and participate in leadership experiences. Part of their task in achieving the leadership diploma will be to identify skills they think are important, and what they can do to enhance their learning in that area.

They will have the opportunity to earn one of 2 Standards of Leadership Diploma. These are:

The Purple

To earn a Purple Leadership Diploma a student needs to complete all of the sections in the Diploma booklet. These include Community Service Activities, Participation in Extra Curricula activities and successful completion of the Outdoor Education Programme. The Purple Diploma will be awarded on completion. All activities in purple and gold diplomas can be added to your Record of School Achievement, awarded by the Board of Studies.

The Gold

In order to gain a Captaincy position in the College in Year 12, students must complete their Leadership Diploma by the end of Year 10 or, in special circumstances, by mid Year 11.To earn a Gold Diploma, they must complete similar activities to the Purple Diploma to a High Standard. In addition, students can work alone or in teams to undertake a Whole School event management of their choosing.
