Principals Welcome

St Benedict’s Catholic College is a systemic, co-educational secondary school in Oran Park. It first opened its doors to students in 2011 and moved to its permanent site in 2013. From the outset, the college was designed to serve the rapidly growing south-west Sydney region, particularly the newly established Oran Park community.

The campus has grown steadily to meet the needs of an expanding enrolment. In 2017, eighteen additional classrooms were opened along with the first stage of the playing fields. A modern performing arts complex was completed in 2019, providing students with purpose-built spaces for music, drama and dance. In 2021, the community celebrated the completion of the school hall, which quickly became a central venue for assemblies, liturgies, and major college events.

The college sits on fifteen acres within the Catherine Field South precinct, adjacent to St Mary of the Cross MacKillop Parish and St Justin’s Catholic Primary School. Its location places it at the heart of a vibrant and fast-growing residential area, enabling strong parish-school links and a sense of shared Catholic community.

As a systemic Catholic High School, St Benedict’s College offers a comprehensive NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority) curriculum, as well as offering a range of extracurricular activities, to meet the varied needs of our students’ development from an academic, personal and social sense of being.

We are a member of the Macarthur Independent Schools Association (MISA) for inter-school Tuesday sport and other cultural activities such as Debating and Public Speaking. There are representative sporting pathways for our students to Diocesan, State and National levels.

As a Catholic High School, St Benedict’s Catholic College strives to be an inclusive and pastorally caring place of learning where, in the words of St Benedict “the strong have something to strive for and the weak have nothing to run from”. We are a member of the Positive Education Schools Association. Our wellbeing program, underpinned by positive psychology, is individually based on students’ needs. Our focus on learning and teaching is to develop in all students, knowledge and skills, values and attitudes to meet the complex demands of the world. Within our learning and teaching programs, our focus is on both broad and focused knowledge and supporting students to think beyond the boundaries of traditional disciplines.

As the College moves from its foundation years, the students continue to have a unique opportunity to develop many of the College’s structures and to craft the intellectual and cultural life of the College which will stand as part of the College for many years to come.

Whether you are a prospective parent seeking enrolment, a current family seeking information, or a prospective staff member, we welcome you and hope you enjoy browsing our website.
